Privacy Policy
Your privacy at The Node
Effective 21 June 2026 · Last updated 8 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Node, a members-only coworking network operated by Glumia Solutions (“The Node”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the The Node mobile app, website, and related services (the “Services”). We are based in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
1. Who we are
The Services are provided by Glumia Solutions, operator of The Node coworking network. For any privacy questions or requests, contact info@thenode.work or visit thenode.work.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account & identity: your name and email address, created and managed through our authentication provider (Clerk) when you sign up.
- Member profile: your public
@handle, display name, optional bio and avatar photo, and your selected home location. - Bookings & usage: desks and meeting rooms you book, check-ins, event RSVPs, and print jobs you submit.
- Files you upload for printing: documents and images you send to be printed. These are stored only briefly and automatically deleted after printing (see §6).
- Waitlist & enquiries: if you join our waitlist or contact us via the website, the details you submit (such as email, name, and city).
- Event sign-ups: if you RSVP to an event on our website, your name, email address, optional phone number, and your answers to any questions that event asks. We use these to run the event and manage attendance; they are seen only by our staff.
- Communications: messages you send us, e.g. support requests.
Information collected automatically
- Device & push identifiers: a push notification token for your device (via Apple APNs / Google FCM) so we can deliver notifications you’ve enabled.
- App activity: actions within the app such as bookings, prints, and content you interact with, used to operate and improve the Services.
- Diagnostics: error and crash reports (via Sentry) that help us keep the app reliable. These do not include the contents of your files.
- Product analytics: aggregate, pseudonymous usage events (e.g. which screens and features are used, sign-up and booking funnels) via Amplitude, so we can understand and improve the Services. These events are PII-free (tied to a random identifier, never your name, email, or contact details) and are not used for cross-app or advertising tracking, and never sold. You can turn analytics off in the app’s appearance/privacy settings.
On this website we record only how many people reach the pricing sections and how many go on to an app store. The identifier used there lasts for a single browsing session and is discarded when you close the tab — we cannot tell that two visits are the same person, and we do not try to. No advertising or cross-site cookies are set. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we record nothing at all, and you can switch it off below whatever your browser says. The map of our location is not loaded until you press Show map; it then comes from Google, which may set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy. - Technical data: basic information needed to deliver and secure the Services, such as session and connection data.
Payment information
When you pay for a membership, booking, or print top-up, payment is processed by Paystack. Your card or bank details are entered directly with Paystack and are not collected or stored by The Node. We keep a record of the transaction (amount, date, purpose, and a payment reference) to manage your account and provide invoices.
3. How we use your information
| Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|
| Provide the Services | Create and manage your account, process bookings and printing, unlock booked rooms, manage your membership and print wallet. |
| Payments & billing | Process payments via Paystack, issue invoices, prevent payment fraud. |
| Communications | Send transactional notices (booking confirmations, payment receipts, print-ready alerts). We also send members announcements and news of new events, as a notification in the app and by email to the address on your account. These are optional and you can stop them at any time (see §7). |
| Safety & security | Authenticate members, protect against abuse, keep access logs for booked rooms. |
| Improve the Services | Understand how features are used so we can improve reliability and experience. |
| Legal compliance | Meet our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations. |
4. Legal bases for processing
Where applicable law (including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where relevant, the GDPR) requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Services); your consent (e.g. optional push notifications, which you can withdraw); our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Services, and telling members about announcements and events at The Node, which you can opt out of at any time); and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, to deliver the Services:
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| Clerk | Authentication & account/session management |
| Paystack | Payment processing |
| Backblaze B2 | Temporary storage of uploaded print files |
| Expo, Apple (APNs) & Google (FCM) | Delivery of push notifications |
| Sentry | Error & crash diagnostics |
| Amplitude | Pseudonymous, PII-free product analytics |
| Cloudflare | Website hosting and security |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of The Node, our members, or others.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. In particular:
- Uploaded print files are stored briefly and automatically purged after the job is processed.
- Account, booking, and transaction records are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs.
- Event sign-ups are kept to run the event and follow up afterwards. You can release your place at any time using the link in your confirmation email, which removes your details, or ask us to delete them (see §7). Deleting your account also removes your event sign-ups.
7. Your rights & choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email info@thenode.work. You can also manage notification permissions in your device settings and in the app.
Announcements and event emails
Members may receive announcements and news of new events from The Node, in the app and by email. Every such email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom; using it stops that kind of email and the matching notification in the app. You can make the same choice, or reverse it, in the app under Account → Notification preferences, where “Announcements” and “New events” are separate switches. The unsubscribe link identifies your account so that it works without signing in; it can only change that one setting.
Opting out does not affect messages about your own account, such as booking confirmations, payment receipts, and security notices. We send those because you need them to use the Services.
Website analytics
The switch below turns off the small amount of analytics this website records, for this browser. It takes effect immediately and the preference stays on your device.
Account & data deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing info@thenode.work from your registered address, or via in-app account settings where available. We will delete or anonymise your data except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations (for example, financial/transaction records).
8. Security
We protect your data using encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to address vulnerabilities promptly.
9. Children
The Services are intended for adults (18 years and older). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Some of our service providers operate outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with applicable data protection law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
